In South Africa, August is Women’s Month - and each year August 9th is celebrated as National Women’s Day. National Women's Day celebrates the strength and resilience of women and their contribution to society and country.
In honor of women's day being on August 9th, we shared 9 stories from Kwanele to celebrate their contribution of fighting for gender-based violence, including our founder, board members, employees, survivors, donors, and advocates. From their experience and feelings, we know that it is through initiatives like Kwanele that we see incredible progress in curbing such criminality in societies. This women's day, we would like for us to celebrate and love ourselves more. This campaign will encourage more people to join our journey and support victims and survivors in the future.
